LAUREN WINFIELD -HILL has been making waves in Asia.
The Stamford Bridge-born cricketer has been participating in the FairBreak Invitational in Hong Kong over the last week, including notching an incredible match-winning century.
Held from April 3-16, the competition is the second global showpiece event held by Australian organisation FairBreak, which aims to use cricket to provide people with fair and equal opportunities, regardless of their endeavour, gender or geographical location.
This year’s 20-over tournament, which is being held at the Kowloon Cricket Club, Hong Kong, has brought together the best coaches and players from around the world including England’s Danni Wyatt, Katherine Sciver-Brunt and Winfield-Hill, and South African trio Dane van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp and Laura Wolvaardt.
Winfield-Hill, who captains the Barmy Army in the competition, was in fantastic touch on Friday, guiding her side to an outstanding 10-wicket win against Tornadoes.

The 32-year-old smashed 17 boundaries and five sixes on her way to an unbeaten 120 from just 67 deliveries, having notched her century in 56 balls.
While Winfield-Hill dominated her partnership with Wolvaardt, the South African chipped in with a sensible 31-ball 40, as the Barmy Army reached their target of 160 with 26 balls to spare.

However, things soon turned from ecstasy to agony for the right-handed batter, as she was forced to retire hurt after facing just three balls, in the Barmy Army’s 17-run triumph over Warriors on Sunday.
Despite that, she did return to action this morning to hit 12 runs to help her side to a 61-run victory against Sapphires, albeit noticeably further down the order.
Winfield-Hill is currently the competition’s top scorer with 212 runs from her five innings thus far, ahead of the Barmy Army’s semi-final against Falcons on Saturday (2:15pm local time, 7:15am UK time).
