YORK Valkyrie centre Tamzin Renouf has been nominated for the Rugby Football League Impact Performance Try of the Week.

Renouf was a standout for the Valkyrie as they scored 20 unanswered points against reigning Betfred Women's Challenge Cup holders St Helens in front of a stadium record crowd of 1,073 on Sunday lunchtime.

She was often given the freedom of the right flank, with the latter of her two scores shortlisted.

Renouf collected an offload from captain Sinead Peach on the halfway line, before skipping through a gap in the Saints defence and bursting forward unchallenged down the right wing to score into the corner.

This is the second time that a York player has been nominated for the award, following veteran second-rower Danny Kirmond's effort in the Knights' thrilling 24-22 Challenge Cup Fourth Round victory over Sheffield Eagles.

The Valkyrie star is the only woman to be nominated in this week's awards, which includes three tries scored in the Betfred Super League and two in the Betfred Wheelchair Rugby Super League.

Leeds Rhinos winger Ash Handley has earned his nomination after grounding a teasing grubber to the right of the posts against struggling Hull FC, while Kevin Naiqama finished off a fine team move as Huddersfield Giants shocked French stars Catalans Dragons at the John Smith's Stadium.
