SELBY Town succumbed to their third consecutive Toolstation Northern Counties East division one defeat following a 5-1 thrashing at Beverley Town in midweek.
A Scott Phillips hat-trick, alongside goals from Grant Tait and Luka Suluburic saw the Beavers run away with the tie, but a surge from the Robins saw Iwan Heeley convert a consolation from the spot.
Ryan Cooper named four changes to the team that were defeated on home turf by Staveley last time out, with Matty Turnbull returning to the action whilst debuts were handed to Toby Wells and Josh Lindley.
Harry Clapham slotted into his more natural position in place of the absent Regan Fish.
The hosts pressed Selby from the start and were unfortunate not to open the scoring early on after a well-driven effort somehow evaded the net after rattling both uprights.
An unsettled aura remained among the visitors, but chances began to fall their way, with Jamie Danby latching on to a Jason St Juste cross, but the his final product proved lacking.
Inevitably the Beavers opened the scoring after 21 minutes, Phillips netting from the spot after Olly Baldwin was brought down by Toby Wells.
Beverley continued to look dangerous each time they pressed and subsequently doubled their lead two minutes later, Phillips doubling his evening’s tally after firing a peach of a shot from range.
Town hoped for a reprieve but were instead met with the opposite, their hosts seeing constant pressure pay off as Tait latched on to a loose ball outside the area before finding the bottom corner to give his side a healthy three-goal advantage at the interval.
A regrouping was on the cards for the Robins, but it proved to be a similar story after the break, Beverley rattling the woodwork once again after beating Wells at his near post.
Selby then offered themselves a glimmer of hope after a neat passage of play saw Clapham brought down in the area for a spot kick, Heeley firing his side onto the board.
But it wasn’t to be for the visitors, Beverley finding another gear as Suluburic drove into the area with ease to slot home for the Beavers' fourth of the evening before Phillips completed his hat-trick after breaking through the Selby defence.
