CORNWALL prop Josh Hartshorne faces up to a six-match ban after his red card during Saturday's Betfred Challenge Cup defeat to York Acorn.
Hartshorne was dismissed on the hour mark by referee Kristoff Young after allegedly throwing a punch in one of a number of second-half melees.
He has been handed a Grade E charge by the RFL's Match Review Panel following the incident, deemed as "sustained and/or violent", and will now automatically be referred to a tribunal.
Grade E suspensions range from four to six matches, with Hartshorne also expected to face a fine.
Former Leeds Rhinos utility back Coby Nichol, who was sin-binned following a high tackle in the closing stages, faces a less severe Grade B charge and £40 fine.
Proceedings against Cornwall's Liam Whitton and Morgan Punchard were dismissed, as were the sin-bins handed out to Acorn's Matt Chilton and Eddie Prescott.
Tries from Jack Byrnes (two) and Alfie Crawford, coupled with Antony Chilton's three conversions, saw Josh Mortimer's amateurs defy the odds in a 18-10 triumph at their Betfred League One opponents.
They will now host fellow NCL outfit Wath Brow Hornets in the Fourth Round on Saturday, February 24 (2pm).
