NEAL Ardley was relieved of his duties this lunchtime - but should he have been given more time by York City?
The Minstermen's 2-0 defeat at play-off chasers Barnet on Saturday proved to be the last straw for the City boss, who was first appointed to the role in early September after spells with Solihull Moors, Notts County and AFC Wimbledon.
York currently sit in a precarious 20th position in the Vanarama National League, just one point above the relegation zone, after recording just three wins so far in 2024.
Ardley lasted in the role for 34 matches, during which he oversaw 10 victories, 14 draws and 10 defeats in all competitions, giving him a win percentage of 29 per cent.
Tony McMahon will take temporary charge of the first-team until a new permanent manager is appointed, starting with Saturday's clash with Wealdstone at the LNER Community Stadium (3pm).
