YORK Valkyrie's Betfred Women's Challenge Cup fixture against Featherstone Rovers will no longer take place at the LNER Community Stadium.
Lindsay Anfield's side will now host Featherstone on Saturday, April 6 (1pm) at York St John University Sports Park.
The Valkyrie, who began their season with a 74-10 thrashing of dual registration partners Sheffield Eagles two weeks ago, were hoping to return to the city's stadium for the first time since October's historic Women's Super League Grand Final triumph against Leeds Rhinos.
However, the decision has been made to bring forward their fixture due to a clash with York City Ladies, who were scheduled to host Barnsley at the LNER Community Stadium two hours later.
Victory over newly-promoted Featherstone would secure Anfield's charges the Group One top spot, as they seek to make it to Wembley Stadium for the competition's Final on June 8.
Admission to the fixture is FREE for all, though donations for the running of York Valkyrie's newly-formed Under 19s squad would be appreciated on the gate.
The club say that they would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the fixture rearrangement, and that further details regarding parking and refreshment arrangements will be confirmed in due course.
