LENELL JOHN-LEWIS has penned a one-year contract extension with York City.
York stalwart John-Lewis has agreed terms on a new one-year deal with City, extending his stay for the 2024/25 season.
The City striker has become an integral member of boss Adam Hinshelwood's squad, helping the Minstermen in securing safety in the Vanarama National League, setting up a third consecutive season in the fifth tier.
John-Lewis initially joined York in 2022 on loan from Grimsby Town, before making the switch permanent after City gained promotion from the Vanarama National League North with a 2-0 triumph over Boston United.
The 34-year-old boasts welcomed experience to Hinshelwood's side, having featured for the likes of Lincoln City, Grimsby Town and Newport County and racking up over 400 appearances in professional football.
John-Lewis joins Paddy McLaughlin and Rory Watson in agreeing extended contracts, who both penned two-year deals, meaning that every player offered a new deal as part of the club's retained list has accepted.
The former City captain joins Dipo Akinyemi, Will Davies and Billy Chadwick as registered strikers for the club as Hinshelwood continues to build towards the 2024/25 season.
