YORK City winger Kai Kennedy has departed the Minstermen by mutual consent.
Kennedy joined York on a two-year contract in August 2023 after departing Scottish giants Rangers, having also featured in loan spells with Falkirk, Hamilton Academical, Dunfermline Athletic, Raith Rovers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The 22-year-old would go on to make 19 appearances for City across the 2023/24 season, failing to register a goal, but managing one assist in the 2-0 victory over Boreham Wood when setting up midfielder Quevin Castro.

Once watched by some of the biggest clubs around Europe, Kennedy's career hasn't yet reached the heights once predicted for the young winger, who is now a free agent.
Kennedy was initially signed by former manager Mikey Morton but would only feature once under the boss, in the 3-1 defeat to Rochdale which eventually prompted the decision to part ways with Morton.
However, Kennedy has found game time extremely limited as of late, having not played in the final 17 matches of the season, and not once under current manager Adam Hinshelwood.
The club said on social media: "We wish Kai well in his future endeavours and thank him for his efforts whilst with the Minstermen."
