YORK City will welcome Huddersfield Town to the LNER Community Stadium as part of their pre-season preparations.
Huddersfield will visit North Yorkshire on Wednesday, July 10 (7pm) in the first of York's confirmed pre-season friendlies, as Adam Hinshelwood's side begin to plan towards the 2024/25 season.
The Terriers now compete in Sky Bet League One after suffering relegation from the Sky Bet Championship last campaign, having featured in the Premier League from 2017 to 2019.
The fixture will also be the first time that Huddersfield have visited the LNER Community Stadium, with the two sides last playing one another in 2004.
That fixture was played at Bootham Crescent in front of a crowd of 6,969, in which City suffered a 2-0 defeat.
York and Huddersfield have faced one another on 19 different occasions in the past, dating as far back as 1938, with City managing six victories in that time.
The last of those victories came in August 2003 at the McAlpine Stadium, with Lee Bullock the goalscorer in a 1-0 win.
