Wheelchair Rugby League has exploded in popularity since England’s last-minute victory over France in the 2021 World Cup Final, which was played in 2022 because of Covid-19, and took place in front of a world record crowd of 4,526 at Manchester Central.
Tom Coyd said of Sunday's event: “From the youth festival in the morning, through to the ‘Future of England’ match in the afternoon, and York versus Bradford Bulls in between, there’s so much for individuals and families to enjoy.
“It’s inclusive, it’s exciting and it’s not to be missed.
“For all those involved it’s a chance to gain experience at the next level, to showcase their skills and to enjoy the thrill of playing in front of a crowd.
“There’s nothing like it.”
‘The Future of England’ event takes place at York Sport Centre on Sunday, May 26.
The youth festival starts at 10.30am and is free to enter.
Tickets for York RLFC v Bradford Bulls, kick-off 12.45pm, and ‘The Future of England’ match afterwards are available at tickettailor.com/events/yorksport1.
