YORK City have added midfielder Ricky Aguiar to their ranks for an undisclosed fee.
Aguiar, 23, joins the Minstermen from Sky Bet League Two side Swinton Town following a three-year spell in Wiltshire.
The creative midfielder becomes York's eight addition the Summer, and the fifth of which that manager Adam Hinshelwood has previously worked with.
Aguiar and Hinshelwood initially linked up at Worthing in the 23-year-old's first taste of senior football, having featured at youth level for both Shoreham and Lewes.
Whilst with Worthing, Aguiar would appear 90 times over a three-year stint, ending his first season as both the Managers' and Players' Player of the Year, retaining the former in the 2019/20 campaign.
Aguiar netted 15 goals during his time with the Rebels, featuring during the covid-19 pandemic.
Swindon moved quickly to bring the highly-rated midfielder to the EFL, where he would appear 19 times in his maiden season, bagging two goals during that time.
A loan spell into the Vanarama National League South to Chippenham Town would follow, before Aguiar returned to Swindon, making another 13 appearances in the Football League
Following a short loan stint with Torquay United, Aguiar returned to Worthing on a season-long loan, adding 30 appearances and 11 goals to his tally in the 2023/24 season.
Swindon opted to recall the 23-year-old in January, going on to make nine appearances with the Robins.
Aguiar, who operates in central midfield, becomes the ninth signing of the Summer, joining Harrison Male, Ollie Pearce, Joe Felix, Ashley Nathaniel-George, Tyrese Sinclair, Alex Hunt and Darragh O'Connor.
