ADAM HINSHELWOOD is willing to listen to offers for a York City duo.

Both George Sykes-Kenworthy and Zanda Siziba are yet to feature under Hinshelwood in pre-season, with Sykes-Kenworthy continuing to recover from a calf injury.

However, with York already possessing a large squad, the City boss has confirmed that he would be willing to accommodate for the duo's exit, should the move make sense for the players.

Hinshelwood also explained the absences of Leone Gravata, Callum Harriott and Levi Andoh, who he all expects to return to training later this week.

“George has been out missing with a calf, so he’s not had enough training to feature in the games.

"But yes, they’re both available if something comes up for them.

"We’re happy with where we are at squad-wise, I still think there are a couple that we need to get out playing football, but there’s a couple that we would like to bring in as well.

"We’ll have to be patient and see how that all turns out.

“He [Gravata] had a scan the other day and it’s just in that same groin, we weren’t sure if it was a hernia or not.

"I think it’s just a slight tear in that, I’m really disappointed for him.

"Him, Callum Harriott and Levi [Andoh], we’re hoping to see back in training towards the end of next week.

"They’re building up nicely, we would have liked to have got some more minutes into those players but with the addition of the extra game, we’re hoping that some of them might be able to feature."

York are still hoping to conduct some transfer business before their Vanarama National League opener with Southend United on Saturday, August 10 (3pm), with a new trialist on show in Saturday's 2-1 win over Grimsby Town.

Hinshelwood has confirmed the identity of the trialist, former Rochdale and Doncaster Rovers left-back Cameron John, with York impressed by the impact shown at the weekend.

“I thought he [John] was good. He slightly, nothing too major, slightly tweaked his hamstring so we didn’t want to take too much of a risk as he had problems with that last season.

"The trialist came in and I thought he did well, I though both of the lads did well to be honest.

"I’m really liking the squad that we’re putting together.

“He’s been with us since Wednesday, for the sessions on Wednesday and Friday, so he’s not been with us long.

"I thought that both the trialists were superb, a real threat and gave us something different.

"It’s ones that we will pursue and have a look at, I’m really happy with where the squad is at, at this stage."

John predominantly features at left-back, but is also accomplished when playing in centre-back, similar to Adam Crookes for York.

Versatility is a trait that Hinshelwood is looking for, with youngster Leon Gibson-Booth also set to be a part of the squad for the season.

“Crookesy is the same, Crookesy played very well in left-back for us here against Sheffield United.

"How we like to go is when we’ve got a bit more possession up the pitch, is two centre-backs and the left-back coming in to make a three at times.

"I think that both guys do that brilliantly for us, they’re perfect in that role that we like.

"Cameron John and Crookesy are both good at going forward as well.

"Leon Gibson-Booth when he came on did well, he showed signs of what he can do and did a great touch, which was the first he did.

"He’s a bit down on himself after his performance the other day [vs Whitby Town], but his performance today was good.

"I just said to him that a youngster’s career is full of ups and downs, it’s not a straight line and he’s responded, him and Billy [Marshall] have been superb additions to the group."
