DIPO AKINYEMI is in line to return for York City tomorrow evening.

York's talisman was absent from the matchday squad in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Tamworth, with it being confirmed by manager Adam Hinshelwood that it was due to a small knock.

Akinyemi is now back available for selection, with City also having a 'clean bill of health' for the first midweek match of the campaign.

"Dipo is back training, he’s got enough distance now into his legs," Hinshelwood confirmed.

"We’re hoping that Dipo will be able to play some sort of role tomorrow.

“He’s a big player for us, he can play in a variety of positions and in whatever role he asked to perform in on Tuesday, it’s great to have him back involved with the squad.

"He’s a big player for us and we’re a better squad and a better team for having him in it.

"It’s good there’s a clean bill of health, no fresh injuries.

"That’s really pleasing, even the fringe players, Levi [Andoh] will be available to go and get some minutes.

"Everyone’s coming along, Crookesy [Adam Crookes] and Alex Hernandez are with Sam [Mannings, physio] at the minute and will be for a little longer.

"There’s about six weeks left on them lot, even they’re progressing so we’re really pleased with where the squad are at."

Hinshelwood also confirmed that Rory Watson, who suffered a concussion in York's final match of pre-season at Spennymoor Town, has recovered in good spirits.

The City boss spoke on his goalkeeping options, and admitted that he had no set number one option.

“He’s all good, he’s recovered brilliantly," Hinshelwood told the Press.

"With George [Sykes-Kenworthy], Rory and Harrison [Male], we’ve got three excellent goalkeepers at our disposal.

"Harrison, I’m pleased that he’s come in, got his first start at home and has got his first clean sheet.

"It gives us something a bit different to the other two, in terms of his quality on the ball, but Rory has really improved on that and is an unbelievable ‘keeper.

"I can see it being between Harrison and Rory for the number one shirt, we probably won’t have a number one as there will be games where I might be edging more towards Rory than Harrison and we can switch the team around."
