YORK-BORN starlet Jack Clarke is set for a move back into the Premier League.
Reports are suggesting that Clarke is currently undergoing a medical with newly-promoted Ipswich Town, ahead of a proposed move worth up to £20 million, with add-ons.
Clarke’s current club of Sunderland have reportedly also submitted a sell-on clause for the attacker, after a hugely-impressive campaign with the Black Cats in the Sky Bet Championship last campaign.
The 23-year-old began his career with Leeds United after winning the division with York-based under-8’s side Heworth, joining the Whites in 2009.
He would go on to break into the Leeds first-team in October 2018, appearing as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Brentford, making 22 appearances when representing the West Yorkshire side.
In 2019 at the age of 18, Clarke earned a move into the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, but would never make an appearance in the top flight before undergoing loan spells back at Leeds, Queens Park Rangers, Stoke City and Sunderland.
His time with Spurs came to an end in 2022, when his loan to Sunderland was made into a permanent switch.
Whilst playing for the Black Cats, Clarke has often retained fitness in the Summer by training in York with the Evolution Sports Academy, which is ran by former York City defender Michael Duckworth, and Garforth Town’s Charlie Marshall.
15 goals in 41 appearances last season for Sunderland saw Clarke touted by Premier League clubs, with Ipswich set to land his signature in the coming days.
