MAZIAR KOUHYAR's York City future remains up for discussion for manager Adam Hinshelwood.

A scintillating start to a loan spell from York to Kidderminster Harriers has seen Kouhyar register three goals and two assists in his opening five matches at Vanarama National League North level, averaging a goal contribution per game.

Kouhyar's impressive form has seen some City fans eager for his return to North Yorkshire, with an expected recall clause added into his season-long loan that can be triggered in January, with Hinshelwood also considering where the winger would fit in his current squad.

The boss admitted that he currently sees four players ahead of Kouhyar, so therefore it is important that he gains regular minutes elsewhere, but refused to close the door on the 26-year-old's future at York.

“With Maz going to Kidderminster, we knew that he could have a big impact for them," Hinshelwood told the Press.

“That’s why he is still in touch with the club, but you look at Billy Chadwick, Tyrese Sinclair and Ashley Nathaniel-George, we have got them in the building and they are good players as well.

“I see those three, and then potentially Dips [Dipo Akinyemi] playing wide, so you have four players ahead of Maz.

"It’s just better for his career that he goes out and plays.

"I am delighted for him, I’m delighted that he is scoring some goals and is getting assists, that was the whole reasoning behind it.

"Who knows what will happen in the future, at the moment I see those four ahead of Maz, but a week is a long time in football, so when Maz comes back in January time then a lot could have changed that."

Kouhyar's immediate impact under Phil Brown at Kidderminster has pleased Hinshelwood, who is keeping his options open for the future of the winger.

"If he keeps playing in the vein that he has been, then we might have a big transfer offer come in before then, because he’s flying.

"He’s doing well, like I said I’m pleased for him and who knows, with what the future holds.

"I definitely won’t rule out his future here at York."
