YORK City have confirmed the signing of defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott on a season-long loan from Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City.
Fagan-Walcott, 22, began his career in the academy of Norsemen FC, an amateur club in London, where he earned the attention of English giants Tottenham Hotspur.
At the age of 13, Fagan-Walcott joined Spurs, where he would go on to pen a first professional deal in 2018.
Fagan-Walcott gained senior experience with the North London side in the EFL Trophy, as well as appearing in the UEFA Champions League during a Round of 16 defeat to Red Bull Leipzig.
The centre-back would also spend a brief loan spell at Dundee FC in Scotland, as well as earning international experience at under-16 and under-17's level.
Following his departure from Tottenham in 2023, Cardiff swooped for the defender to feature primarily in their under-21's set-up.
A loan spell back into Scotland with Dunfermline Athletic followed, where Fagan-Walcott played under manager James McPake, who had initially signed the 22-year-old at Dundee.
Fagan-Walcott accumulated 15 appearances in the Scottish Championship, netting three goals, before returning to Cardiff.
His impressive form on loan saw the Bluebirds extend the centre-back's contract, before making his Championship debut in an opening day loss to Burnley.
Fagan-Walcott was reported previously by WalesOnline as being linked with the move to York, with manager Erol Bulut speaking on the decision behind the move.
Bulut stated: "We want them [Raheem Conte, who has joined Woking] to go to a club where they can play continuously.
"It’s important for them, we want them to play so we try to find them the right choice, the right club for them.”
Fagan-Walcott will be available for selection for the Minstermen's third Saturday visit into London consecutively, taking on Wealdstone this coming Saturday (3pm).
