AFC Fylde have parted ways with manager Chris Beech after losing 3-0 to York City on Saturday.

A poor start to the season for Fylde wasn’t helped by York, who took full advantage of the Coasters’ fragile state to cruise to a 3-0 triumph at the LNER Community Stadium.

Fylde’s Harry Davis was shown a straight red card for a rash challenge prior to half-time, with Marvin Armstrong putting City ahead after pouncing on a mistake at the back from the visitors.

Substitute Lenell John-Lewis added his fourth of the season with a composed finish from Dipo Akinyemi’s hard.

The result was settled as Callum Harriott bagged his second for the club after a strenuous period on the sidelines, coming off of the bench to slide an effort past Ben Winterbottom.

Fylde have dropped to 23rd position in the Vanarama National League as a result, with five points from their opening eight matches, having not won a game since the opening day against Solihull Moors.

The Fylde board have made the decision to part ways with manager Beech, with assistant boss Nick Anderton also leaving the club.

Chris Neal and Nathan Delfounsou have resumed control of the first-team on an interim basis whilst the search for a permanent manager goes on.

Fylde said on their club website: “The club can confirm that they have parted company with Chris Beech and his assistant Nick Anderton.

“The club would like to place on record their thanks to both Chris and Nick and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

“Club Chairman David Haythornthwaite will be providing an update to the club website on the reasoning, and how the club intend to move forward tomorrow evening.

“In the meantime, Chris Neal and Nathan Delfouneso will be taking charge of all first-team matters ahead of Tuesday night’s game against Southend United.”
