ADAM HINSHELWOOD is eager to see Mo Fadera unlock his potential after a bright start to his York City career.

Fadera signed a permanent contract with York after initially impressing in a pre-season friendly against City, playing for Garforth Town.

Hinshelwood was so impressed by Fadera that he decided to bring the young winger in on trial with the club, with his impact in training earning a deal with the Minstermen.

Fadera has often travelled down with the first-team squad for matches, but was only involved in the actual 18-man squad for the first time on Saturday against Aldershot Town.

The 19-year-old was introduced as a 67th minute substitute for Alex Hunt, and showed glimpses of quality despite it being his first match in professional football.

He again came on for just three minutes in Tuesday night’s 3-0 victory over Solihull Moors.

Hinshelwood believes that the sky is the limit for the youngster, and is keen to ensure that the standards remain high for Fadera, with the help of the senior members of the squad.

“He’s done brilliantly,” Hinshelwood told the Press.

“He’s been training with us, and obviously you have seen him perform in the last couple of games.

“He’s been training with us for a good a couple of months now, we saw his potential and the improvement in him, which is something that will get better.

“I have got really high demands of Mo and he’s one that I think that has got real potential.

“We’ll make sure that his standards are kept really high, which is why we have Lenny [Lenell John-Lewis] and Paddy [McLaughlin] driving it.

“When you have your teammates doing it, it really helps.

“If he can try and get the potential that I believe he has got, then we have a really talented player on our hands.”

Hinshelwood also expects the more experienced wingers of the squad, such as Callum Harriott and Ashley Nathaniel-George, to offer guidance to Fadera if it is needed.

“I think there’s a bit of rivalry there because they’ll want to start games, but ultimately they are good people that want to see Mo do well.

“None of those lads, if Mo was to go and ask a question about certain things in his position, would hesitate to help him out.

“We potentially have a really talented player on our hands, and it is down to us all to get the best out of him.

“He’s started well, he’s had a couple of good moments in games when he has come on.

“Like any professional, he’ll be looking at where he can get that next start to show what he can do.”
