TADCASTER Albion dropped to a fourth straight league defeat against Thackley.
Mick O’Connell’s side are now in 17th position, just two places above the Northern Counties Eastern League premier division, having been unable to back up their 2-0 win over Goole in the West Riding County Cup last week.
Three goals in 27 minutes for visitors Thackley put the West Yorkshire side in control, with Albert Ibrahimi drawing a goal back prior to half-time.
Ben Grech-Brooksbank gave the Dennyboys more breathing room with a second-half strike, before Ben Tweed halved the deficit with a stoppage-time consolation goal.
Tadcaster had a huge chance just four minutes in as Kieran Greenway found Ethan Kachosa in a dangerous position, but his resulting strike was cleared off of the line by a retreating Thackley defender.
Tahweed Ahmed, playing against his former side, curled an effort wide for Thackley before the visitors took the lead just six minutes in.
After dispossessing the Brewers in midfield, Finn Donovan broke away before firing a strike past Sam Green.
Green was called into action to thwart Donovan’s second attempt, but couldn’t keep out Antony Brown, who wrong-footed the shot-stopper and cooly finishing after finding himself one-on-one.
Nine minutes later, the Dennyboys piled the misery onto Tadcaster more, stretching their lead to 3-0.
Donovan continued his exemplary display with a challenge to win the ball back, before feeding Brown, who again slotted his strike past a helpless Green.
It was almost four for Thackley as Brown squared the ball into Ahmed, who rounded Green before his eventual strike rattled the post.
Tadcaster did nab a goal back before half-time, as goalkeeper Michael Roxburgh was caught dawdling on the ball, allowing Albert Ibrahimi to steal possession and finish for Albion.
O’Connell’s side started the half much better than they had the first, as Kachosa looked to find Albert Ibrahimi in the area, before shouts for a handball were ignored by the referee.
Albert Ibrahimi continued his display after receiving the ball from a throw-in and firing goalwards, only for a deflection to send his strike over the crossbar.
Sam Kitchen went close after latching onto a loose ball on the edge of the area, with his effort cannoning off of the woodwork.
Thackley would make Taddy regret their missed opportunities, as Lewis Garden beat an Albion man to a ball before finding Harry Parsons, who spread the ball into Donovan.
He found Brown, who crossed into Grech-Brooskbank, with the Thackley striker able to complete a well-worked move with a powerful header.
Tadcaster did pull back a consolation strike late on, as Tweed finished a counter-attacking move to beat Roxburgh from close-range.
