THE Nags Head leapfrogged The Heworth Inn in the Timclad York Sunday Morning League Division One with a thrilling 7-5 victory on Sunday.

Hosts The Nags Head moved into fourth position, on seven points, and took the position of The Heworth Inn on Sunday after a goalfest took place at the University of York Sports Centre.

The only other league fixture set to take place was Haxby Town against Thorpe United Sunday Blue, however the match was postponed due to the latter's involvement elsewhere.

Division One sides were instead involved in the County FA Sunday Trophy, with Atlanta First being the only victorious team after a 5-1 win over Manningham Town North Avenue.

Goals came from James Sellers, Connor Wilson, Ben Parker and a brace from Sean Robinson.

There were defeats in the cup for Malt Shovel, Thorpe United Sunday Blue and Thorpe United Sunday Red.

In Division Two, Selby Olympia stretched their lead at the top after a 4-1 win over third-placed South Milford, thanks to braces from both Ryan Garbutt and Thomas Lazenby.

Strensall Tigers and Punch Bowl played out a 2-2 draw in Division Two's only other league fixture, with both teams only separated by one point in the table.

There was cup action for Bramham Lions and Thorpe United Veterans.

The Lions lost 6-3 to George Hotel United 2001 Reds after a hat-trick from Jodi Tiffany.

Thorpe United Veterans suffered a disappointing 5-0 defeat to Original Oak Firsts.
