BILLY CHADWICK has joined fellow Vanarama National League side Boston United on a one-month loan from York City.

Chadwick, 24, has made 12 appearances for York this season, scoring once in the opening home match of the campaign against Tamworth.

It will be a second spell at Boston for Chadwick, who made 20 appearances for the Pilgrims in 2023, scoring an impressive 11 times in the Vanarama National League North.

He will also link back up with former City assistant manager Neil Cox, who is currently part of the interim set-up at Boston following the exit of Ian Culverhouse last month.

Boston currently find themselves in 23rd position in the fifth tier, and will be looking for a first home victory of the season against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.

Chadwick has struggled for game time as of late, managing just 23 minutes of game time in York's last five matches.

Manager Adam Hinshelwood had spoken on the situation of the attacking midfielder, telling the Press: “I’ve spoken to Billy, we just want a bit more consistency in training and in games, that’s all really.

“The team is doing well and he’s found himself out of the side, players in his position are playing well so it’s pass and parcel of football.

“He’s just got to be patient, there is so much of Billy’s game that I like.

“Just a bit of consistency in his training and his standards when it comes to game time, but he’s one that towards the end of last year was so good for us.

“He was starting week in week out, but the level of player has gone up, so he’s one that has got to come with it.

“He probably didn’t have this kind of competition last year and now he’s got some, he’s got to step up to the plate.

“There is so much to admire about Billy’s game and I’m sure that he will have a big part to play.”
