YORK City will host Darlington in the Isuzu FA Trophy third round.
Adam Hinshelwood's side learned their opponents for the FA Trophy third round this afternoon, which is the stage of the competition where National League clubs enter.
The match will take place on Saturday, December 7 (3pm) at the LNER Community Stadium, with City set to meet again with a number of former players for the fixture.
Scott Barrow, Cedric Main, Pete Jameson, Will Hatfield, Kallum Griffiths, Jonny Haase, Tom Platt and manager Steve Watson now all represent the Quakers, who currently play their football in the National League North.
After managing an incredible great escape last season, Darlington find themselves in 14th position in the sixth tier, having accumulated 22 points from 17 matches so far.
The two teams haven't played one another competitively since September 2021, in which York ran out 2-1 winners after a brace from newly-appointed Head of Development Clayton Donaldson, after Jake Cooper had been sent off for the hosts and Luke Charman had netted a consolation strike.
The draw took place live on TalkSport 2 at 3.15pm today, with York being ball number 11 in the North draw, which consisted of 28 clubs and 14 ties.
It's a competition which City have treasured memories in, having won the tournament at Wembley Stadium in both 2012 and 2017.
The Minstermen will be looking to build upon their third round exit from last season, after a disappointing 3-2 defeat to lower league Nantwich Town.
