FORMER York City attacker Jess Park has been selected to represent the Lionesses for upcoming matches against the United States and Switzerland.
Park has been called-up by England to add to her 11 international caps for the Lionesses, with a set of friendlies approaching for Sarina Wiegman’s side.
England will first face the United States on Saturday, November 30 (5.20pm) at Wembley Stadium, before hosting Switzerland on Tuesday, December 3 (7.45pm) at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane.
Park, who made her Lionesses debut in 2022, has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City this season, having overcome a shoulder injury that disrupted large parts of her 2023/24 campaign.
The 23-year-old initially joined Manchester City in 2017 after a spell in the academy of York, where she has gone on to establish herself as a regular for the Sky Blues, who are currently neck-and-neck with Chelsea for the Women’s Super League to spot.
She will be hoping to add to previous accolades such as the Emirates Women's FA Cup and the League Cup, which she has lifted twice, having become a crucial member of the Manchester City squad following her loan switch to Everton.
Speaking on the upcoming friendlies, Wiegman stated: “This is an important international window for us to continue our work to be ready for next summer’s EURO.
"Every minute of these two games and every moment spent together at St. George’s Park is to make sure we’re where we need to be when the tournament begins on 2 July.
“As we continue our preparations we want to test ourselves against the very best and that’s why we have carefully selected the USA and Switzerland.
"They are two opponents who will challenge us in different ways this window and that’s exactly what we want.
“The USA need no introductions and to play them at Wembley Stadium in front of a packed home crowd again is going to be very special. Under Emma [Hayes] they’ve reached a really top level.
“Switzerland are improving all the time and their impressive victory against France last month shows what they are capable of and how much they continue to grow and develop.
"It’ll be nice to return to Sheffield, a stadium which gave us one of our most memorable moments together but our full focus is now on our next chapter as a team.”
