A BATTLE of the Roses is coming to York in 2025, with Clifton Park selected to host a further four Yorkshire CCC domestic fixtures next summer.
Yorkshire’s Rothesay County Championship clash against Essex will take place on June 29, whilst the city will also play host to their Metro Bank One Day Cup fixtures against Roses rivals Lancashire (August 12) and Somerset (August 14).
The county’s newly formed women’s team – including Stamford Bridge’s Lauren Winfield-Hill and York’s Grace Hall – will also play their Metro Bank One Day Cup League Two fixture against Leicester Women at Clifton Park on May 15.

York is not the only North Yorkshire venue, with Scarborough’s North Marine Drive playing host to County Championship fixtures against Surrey (July 22) and Sussex (July 29), and both their opening One Day Cup match against Warwickshire (August 5) and Durham (August 22).
Yorkshire enjoyed a fine 2024 County Championship season, clinching promotion back to Division One in style as Roses rivals Lancashire were relegated.
They dominated the third day of their final match against Northamptonshire, with Adam Lyth and James Wharton both hitting centuries as they secured a second-placed finish.
Yorkshire finished sixth in Group 2 of this year’s One Day Cup, having won half of their eight fixtures. Glamorgan went on to win the competition with a 15-run victory against Somerset in the final.
