In the top of the table clash in the Ultra Fabrication YWPL the Dick Turpin defeated Huntington WMC C 7-5.
The Turpin raced in to a 4-0 lead this included a break and dish for Tom Wilson and wins for Matt Johnston, Pooky Wilson and Bob Kelly.
Huntington’s Keith Thornton reduced the deficit to 4-2 by winning the next two frames. The Turpin took control and secured the victory by winning the next three frames to make the score 7-2, Matt Johnston, Bob Kelly and Pooky Wilson winning frames.
Huntington then won frames 10, 11 and 12 to reduce the margin to 7-5.
Lawrence 8 Ballers won 7-5 against the Light Horseman, Carl Daly winning three frames and Ricky Holloway and Paul Ellerby winning two each to give the 8 Ballers the victory.
#upthebish visited Huntington WMC B and in a closely contested match the score 5-3 to Huntington.
Rob Barron then stepped up for Bishopthorpe winning two frames to make the score 5-5 , Ryan Foy winning the 11th frame to make the score 5-6 and in the 12th frame Rob Barron secured the victory with a cheeky double to win the match 5-7.
A clash of the title rivals in Division Two saw Bishopthorpe A and The Crescent sharing the points.
Bishopthorpe raced in to a 3-0 lead with Dan King continuing his 100 per cent record, however in the end a resilient Crescent side with Lucas Bingham winning three frames helped the Crescent to a 6-6 draw.
The Hammers won 11-1 win against previous second place More Mitre to keep them in connection in the top three of the league.
Other matches saw the Grey Horse grind out a 7-5 win against Edi arms A’s, Liam Wills with three wins.
Lawrence B with the return of Chris Brown winning two frames helping the Lawrence to a 6-6 with Edi Arms.
In Division three The Bay Horse and Stamford Bridge continued their winning run against the Beagle B, winning 9-3 to take them to second in the league.
They are now a point behind the Hogs Head which sets up a great game in two weeks when they meet each other.
Strong performance on the night from Nick Ramsden who won all three of his games, Mark Tomlinson, Tony Brown and Brooke Horne all winning two of their three games, with Tomlinson clearing the table in his game against Brad Richardson.
Next week sees a break from league action as the double's competition takes place.
There was also action last week, Huntington WMC C took control of the match with Clockhouse P, the return of Adam Clarke helping Huntington race to a 7-0 lead.
Clarke, Scoff and Si Calvert won two each and Keith Thornton celebrated one, the final score finishing 9-3 to Huntington, which took them to the top of the Super League.
Clockhouse Zeds and Dick Turpin shared the points in a thrilling 6-6 draw, with Tom Wilson winning three out of three frames for the Turpin.
In the final frame, the Zeds were 5-6 down. Zeds skipper Tony Shed stepped up and defeated Turpin Captain Matty Johno to ensure a 6-6 draw.
A 7-5 victory for Haxby Sports Bar against Heworth A helped Haxby moved off the bottom of the table on points difference. Paul Kelly won three frames to help Haxby on the way to victory.
Huntington WMC A visited #upthebish and raced into a 3-0 lead; this included a reverse dish for Kristian Strangeway.
Bish won the next three frames to level the score at 3-3, including a break and dish for Alice Paylor to level the match in the sixth frame.
Huntington then went ahead 3-5 and Bish then pulled it back to 5-5. #upthebish won the last two frames, skipper Tom Thomson making it 6-5 and Jimmy Lee securing the frame to help Bish to a 7-5 victory.
Division Two continues to be tight at the top. Crescent moved up to second in the table beating Edinburgh arms A, who drop from second to fifth with the score 8-4.
A mention to newcomers of The Saddle Inn, Fulford, some weeks only having 3 players.
On Wednesday evening, they took a 3-0 lead away at Edinburgh Arms A’s before eventually losing 9-3.
In Division 3, Hoggs Head continued their fine form with an 11-1 victory at the Red Lion, Poppleton.
The Bay Horse, Stamford Bridge continue to chase the leaders after an impressive 9-3 home victory against Huntington Sports Club, which keeps the Bay two points behind the leaders.
