YORK City full-back Ben Purkiss has been placed on standby for England C's trip to Italy next month.
Purkiss could now be called up for the International Challenge Trophy clash in Benevento, near Naples, if there are any injury withdrawals in defence ahead of the November 12 game.
City striker Richard Brodie, currently on loan at Barrow, will not figure this time around despite making his debut during England C's last match in Bosnia.
The Minstermen have also sent reserve defender Josh Radcliffe on loan to Unibond League first division strugglers Harrogate Railway.
About that decision, City chief Colin Walker said: “Railway play in a tough league and I believe that if Josh can get a month's regular football it will be excellent experience for him and help with his development.”
