YORK City's Supporters' Trust board have urged members to exercise their vote with just three days left until the deadline for postal votes ahead of Tuesday's special general meeting.

The Tempest Anderson Hall meeting will decide whether or not to accept a proposal to make City managing director Jason McGill's company JM Packaging 75 per cent plus one share majority shareholders of the football club in return for a £1million investment.

Members not attending the SGM, but wishing to cast their vote, must ensure their ballot papers are returned by Saturday.

Trust chairman Steve Beck said: "We're strongly encouraging Trust members to vote in favour of the proposal to secure additional funding and the input required to lead the club into the future. We appreciate that whichever way people vote there may be reservations.

"There are Trust members who have committed a huge amount of time for four-and-a-half years to ensure the survival of York City and to try to see the club through to a better future in a new stadium. That work has continued over the past few months with the same objectives in mind.

"The reality to be faced is that without the urgent new funding and someone to lead the business, the future of the club will be forced into serious doubt."
