YORK City are hoping to welcome back six injured players for tonight’s friendly at Market Drayton Town, writes Dave Flett.
Summer signings Greg Young and Duane Courtney are expected to enjoy their second pre-season run outs against the Evo-Stik first division south side.
Neil Barrett is also likely to return after missing the last three friendlies while Chris Carruthers, George Purcell and Dean Lisles – all sidelined for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hartlepool – are set to make the game, which kicks off at 7pm.
City’s opening day opponents Kidderminster Harriers have signed former Aston Villa trainee left-back Aaron Griffiths.
Elsewhere, Barrow have recruited winger Marc Goodfellow and defender Matt Heywood after the pair were released from Burton and Grimsby respectively.
