THE unveiling of York City’s fixture list for the 2011/12 campaign has been delayed by at least 24 hours.

The Blue Square Bet Premier fixtures were due to be published tomorrow morning, but the announcement is now on ice.

The Conference are awaiting the outcome of an appeal by expelled club Rushden & Diamonds, which is scheduled for tomorrow.

A Conference statement said: “Due to the impending appeal by Rushden & Diamonds FC to the Football Association in respect of their expulsion from membership, scheduled for hearing on Tuesday, it is sensible and practical under these circumstances, to delay the release of the 2011/12 fixture list for all three Blue Square Bet divisions, until at least 10am on Wednesday, July 6.”

Rushden, who finished 13th last season after a five-point penalty for a breach of league rules, were thrown out of the Conference on June 16.

League officials revealed the club had admitted various breaches of the rules of the Football Conference, including not paying numerous football creditors, failing to respond to correspondence and failing to comply with instructions from the Conference board regarding their debts and their plans for the future.

Relegated Southport were reinstated to the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Released City midfielder Levi Mackin, meanwhile, has signed for Blue Square Bet Premier new boys Alfreton Town.
