YORK City are hoping to welcome midfielder Scott Kerr back for tomorrow’s friendly at Billingham Synthonia.

Kerr missed Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory at Grantham but is expected to return for City’s sixth pre-season outing at Synthonia.

The hosts play at the Glamal Engineering Stadium and finished 12th in last season’s Northern League first division.

Synthonia also reached the fifth round of the FA Vase during the 2010/11 campaign, knocking out Tadcaster Albion on the way.

Admission for the 3pm kick off is £5 for adults and £2.50 for OAPs and juniors.

Elsewhere, former City midfielder Simon Russell has signed for Lincoln City after being asked to take a wage cut at Cambridge United.

Luton Town have also made their third signing of the summer, recruiting winger James Dance from Crawley Town.

Kettering Town have brought in midfielder Aman Verma following his release from Championship side Leicester City.

Veteran midfielder Alex Russell has rejoined Bath City from Yeovil and Telford have swooped for ex-Premier League youngsters Nathan Rooney, Dwayne Samuels and Dan Preston, who were made surplus to requirements at Wolves, West Brom and Birmingham respectively over the summer.

The Blue Square Bet Premier new boys have also brought in prolific Newcastle Town winger Jordan Johnson.
