York City midfielder Andre Boucaud has joined Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Luton Town.
Boucaud, who has played 40 times for The Minstermen since joining the club from Kettering Town last season, scoring one goal, has joined the Hatters on an 18 month deal. The Kenilworth Road club said the fee was £25,000.
Under the terms of the deal, he will not be able to play against the Minstermen in either the Blue Square Bet Premier fixture at Kenilworth Road later in the season, or any potential play-off semi-finals. He would, however, be eligible to play for Luton should the two teams meet in the play-off final.
City Manager Gary Mills said: "Luton expressed an interest in Andre and I felt it was the right time for him to move on as it allows me to potentially strengthen the team in other areas. We wish Andre the best for his move to the Hatters and thank him for his time at York City."
