Updated: YORK City transfer target Jon Shaw has signed for beaten Blue Square Bet Premier play-off finalists Luton Town.
Shaw held talks with City manager Gary Mills earlier this month but has opted to stay in non-League football at the same level he plundered 35 goals for Gateshead last season.
The Hatters have also recruited Scott Rendell – another forward – from Wycombe, ironically the team against whom the Minstermen will kick off their return to the Football League in just under two months’ time.
Elsewhere, Southend have added winger Kevan Hurst to their squad following his release by Walsall and full-back Laurence Wilson and winger Lionel Himsworth have completed moves to Rotherham from Morecambe and Shrewsbury respectively.
Midfielder George Miller, meanwhile, has switched from Preston to Accrington Stanley and striker Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro has turned down a new deal at Rochdale to join League One Tranmere.
