AN 11th hour dash up the A1 by York City's senior administrative assistant Louise Jackson ensured season-ticket holders could buy tickets yesterday morning for the FA Cup trip to Newcastle Benfield (Bay Plastics).
Jackson drove to the north-east with husband David to collect the tickets for the fourth qualifying round clash personally on Thursday night after a delay in printing meant they would not have reached the club until the weekend by post.
The Minstermen sold around 100 of their 700 ticket allocation yesterday and the ticket office will also be open tomorrow from 10am to 2pm.
Tickets cost £7 for adults and concessions and season-ticket holders can buy one ticket each until 5pm on Monday.
Any tickets left will then go on general sale at 1pm on Tuesday.
The match takes place next Saturday and kicks off at 2pm with both teams playing for a place in the first round proper.
