Champions Woodhouse Grange were the only side to make the most of their home advantage in week three of the Foss Evening Cricket League.

Heworth prevailed in a low- scoring match at Barmby Moor and that saw them retain the leadership of division one and end Moor’s 100 per cent record. Heworth posted 66-6 but Barmby were bowled out for 51 thanks to Andy Bonarius’ 3-11.

Woodhouse Grange’s Nick Hadfield (50) and Tom Quinn (24) ensured that Dunnington’s 93-6 was surpassed with three overs to spare. Earlier, Jack Bolam (37) top-scored for Dunnington, while spinners Ryan Pepper and Sam Craven took two wickets each.

Wheldrake made 121-4 at Stamford Bridge with Mike Smales (40) and Carl Blundell (23no) in the runs. Despite the efforts of Kevin Smith (23), Olly Pimlott (23) and Matty Beckett (20), basement side Bridge fell 12 runs short.

Pocklington continue to lead division two after Andy Inns’ 80 allowed them to post 148-6 against Heworth Colts. The Colts were never really in the hunt despite Oliver Sherwood’s unbeaten 54, mustering only 87-6.

Yapham are also undefeated after Will Axup’s all-round performance led them to a 13-run victory against Melbourne.

Axup made 37 in Yapham’s 103-3 and took 3-19 as Melbourne folded to 90-9, despite captain Eddie Oliver’s 46.

Londesborough Park are third after defeating The Retreat by 17 runs. Tim Nettleton (42), Mike Drewery (33) and Henry Laverack (21) led Park to 112-4. The Retreat were restricted to 95-7 despite Gareth Fenton (28) top-scoring. Darren Moody took 1-6 in four overs.

In division three, Fulfordgate and visitors Westow shared 304 runs in 36 overs. Westow posted 168-1 as Ben Holtby (91) made the highest score of the summer and Matty Shipley contributed 32. Fulfordgate made 136-9 in reply, with Mick Nelson scoring 37, but Holtby completed a great night with three wickets.

Matt Durkin celebrated his 15th birthday with 41 (7x4, 1x6) for leaders Stockton & Hopgrove against Dunnington Academy.

Skipper Jamie Kerrison (36) led Stockton to 140-6 and Dunnington Academy fell well short at 84-6 as Dan Fairclough (2-3) and 15-year-old Adam Kerrison (2-7) starred.

Thixendale’s Steve Hood (39), Carl Potter (36) and Fred Atkin (29) led them to 149-7 and a 65-run win over York RI (84 all out).
