Stamford Bridge maintained their hold on top spot in division one of the Foss Evening Cricket League with a comfortable victory over Pocklington.

Stamford rattled up 146-5 with Dave Bradshaw (35), new signing Dom Rhodes (30) and Dave Chaplin (28) in the runs, while Pocklington youngster Freddie Parry claimed 4-27.

Pocklington fell short on 102-4 as Dave Craven bowled a miserly four-over spell, taking 1-8.

Woodhouse Grange maintain hopes of a fifth successive title with an easy victory over Dunnington that keeps them joint top with Bridge. Dunnington mustered 50-7 in 16 overs as Sam Craven took two wickets and Grange executed three run outs. Woodhouse knocked off the runs with 32 balls to spare.

York carded a rapid victory over Heworth, knocking off their target with eight overs to spare. Kalum Ahmed claimed 5-15 as Heworth made 97-7 before Ian Jarvis’ unbeaten 53 led the Clifton Parkers home.

Londesborough Park were gifted their first points of the summer as Barmby Moor were unable to raise a side.

Bishopthorpe and The Retreat mustered the first tie of the season in division two. Bish were reeling at 28-4 but 16-year-old Alex Jubb (42) led them to 106-7. Scott Reeves conceded only five from his four overs but Nad Sadiq (50) and Salman Syed (35 not out with 23 off one over) had Retreat favourites before Ross Kelly’s late three-wicket haul left the hosts requiring three from the final ball. The Retreat were only able to run two after surviving a run out appeal to claim a point.

Westow’s Matty Turnbull brought Stockton & Hopgrove’s unbeaten run to an end with a hat-trick en route to figures of 5-10. Westow made 85-9 with Martyn Woodliffe making 32 not out. Stockton were then blown away for 71 by Turnbull, with only Jamie Kerrison (34) showing resistance.

Osbaldwick moved to the top of the division with a 91-run win over Melbourne. Josh Cockerill (48) and Mike Hattee (87no) were again in the runs as Osbaldwick posted 175-3. Cockerill then returned the best figures for his team with 3-2 in his only over as Melbourne only mustered 84-7.

Yapham were given the game as Wheldrake were unable to raise a side.

There was a run-fest in division three at Fulfordgate with 378 runs scored in 36 overs.

Ovington batted first and Craig Nichol (115no) and Chris Tune (87no) were unbeaten in posting 210.

Fulfordgate put in a spirited effort making 168-8 with Mick Nelson top-scoring on 42.

Heworth Colts maintained their 100 per cent record thanks to a century opening stand between father and son duo Matt and Will Huffer. Stevie Littlewood’s 72 not out led York RI to 108-4. Matt (63no) and Will (33) then tied the scores before Huffer junior was out.

Heworth finally claimed victory with nine balls to spare.

Thixendale moved into the second promotion spot with a rapid victory over Retreat II. Retreat were restricted to 89-7 by Tom Brader’s 3-17, despite Adam Mosley’s 25. Brader (25no) and Joe Robinson (59no) then saw Thix home with more than eight overs to spare.
