AFTER the second round of Pilmoor Evening Cricket League fixtures, only Thirsk have a 100 per cent record in the first division.

Thirsk took the points when they entertained neighbours Sessay.

Joseph Watson anchored the Sessay innings with 34 not out, and Matthew Wass made 17 as Sessay closed on 95-9 with Ryan McKendry (3-20), Ben Elders (2-18) and James Wilkinson (2-7) sharing the bowling honours. Liam Carver kept Sessay in the hunt with 3-19, but Stuart Christon (25) and James Wilkinson (25no) took Thirsk to 96-5 with four balls remaining.

Easingwold won an entertaining encounter with Sheriff Hutton Bridge.

Tommy Langstaff, unbeaten on 59, and Richard Bryan, with 38, took Easingwold to 138-5, Bridge skipper David Phillips taking 2-27.

Phillips then led his side’s reply with a fine 80 not out, but Harry Elliott took 3-12 and Bridge closed adrift on 121-5.

Crayke had a heartening win when they took on Clifton Alliance. Graeme Dawson (25), Drew Walker (30) and Peter Carr (25) were their main contributors as they reached 111-6 with Alex Renton (3-16) and Allan Barton (3-20) sharing the wickets.

Clifton closed on 77-7 with Will Bartlett taking 2-20 and Drew Walker 2-6.

In the second division, Huby beat Rowntrees.

The York side batted first and made 124-5 and Huby replied with 126-3 as Dan Grainger made 29, Thomas Piercy 21, Mark Swales 24 not out and Sam Potrykus, 26 not out.

Sheriff Hutton took the points at Helperby. P Harrison and Geoff Schofield each made 50 (retired) to provide the basis of Sheriff’s 142-4, while Dan Marston returned 2-32 for Helperby.

Helperby’s reply closed on 118-5 as James Hardy made 22, Mark Spilman 36 and Dan Spink 20 not out. David Hull took 2-20 for Sheriff.

Civil Service batted first against visiting Raskelf and reached 114-4 thanks to the efforts of Alex Ingram (29), Pete Noble (24) and Phil Murkin (20). Sam Porter took 2-21.

Richard Brown made 30 as Raskelf replied, but Will Phelps’ 2-25 and James Woodall’s 3-33 saw them close on 92-8.

Stillington recorded their first win when they entertained Alne.

Only Tom Shaw (25) made much progress against the home bowlers, with Oliver Everard taking 2-30 and Adrian Leckenby 2-0.

Jack Cartwright, who was 26 not out, and Toby Wells, 24 not out, then saw Stillington home at 79-2 in the 12th over.
