Clifton Alliance toppled leaders Thirsk to move into second place in division one of the Pilmoor Evening Cricket League.
Only three wickets fell as Alliance inflicted Thirsk’s first defeat of the campaign.
Richard Kirby’s 66 and Keiran Fenwick’s 48 took Thirsk to 123-2, but Nick Hindle led the Alliance reply with 77 and Clifton took the points at 124-1.
Helperby missed the chance to close the gap when they were beaten at Sessay. The visitors batted first and overseas opener Tom Coates made 35, but Helperby struggled to 82-9 with Sessay youngsters Mark Jackson (4-28) and Tom Wilkinson (2-25) holding sway.
Dan Marston (2-12) struck back but Matthew Wass (41no) and Jacob Spencer (36no) took them to 86-3.
Newburgh lost at Sheriff Hutton Bridge after being restricted to 112-9 by Daniel Cass (4-23).
Mark Fisher made 32, David Speake 46 not out and Jack Hugill 17 not out as Bridge won by six wickets.
Crayke were bowled out for 97 in their defeat at Dringhouses, whose main run-makers were John Patrick (36no) and Lewis Chipchase (30no).
Alne kept up their challenge in division two with victory over Huby.
Max Lord hit 25 in Huby’s 96-6, with Toby Stirk (3-28) and Noel Collins (2-21) starring for Alne.
Richard Henley led the reply with 40 and Alne won by five wickets.
Easingwold were 32-run winners at Civil Service.
Martin Piercy made 51 retired, Andrew Metcalfe 31 and Jamie Metcalfe 29 not out as Easingwold posted 143-2 and the home reply closed on 111-7.
Acomb beat Stillington by 14 runs, while Raskelf ran up 164-4 in their 84-run win over Rowntrees, with Rob Galtrey hitting 51 retired.
Sheriff Hutton kept their promotion hopes alive with a hard-fought two-wicket win at New Earswick.
