Sheriff Hutton’s batsmen made hay in division three where they entertained Carlton Towers who found themselves chasing a massive 274-7 and fell 190 runs short.
Leading the way was Nick Schofield, who plundered an unbeaten 74, while Tom Harrison hit 60.
Joel Wilford, who chipped in with 29, followed up with 3-14 as he and David Hull (3-20) reigned.
Ace Duncombe Park batsman Brian Leckenby started off the season in his customary fine fashion when he hit an unbeaten 104 at Acomb.
Already ranked number two behind Collis King in the league’s all-time century-makers table, Leckenby’s 29th three-figure score saw Park clinch an eight-wicket win.
Dringhouses star veteran Mick Kenyon virtually single-handedly inflicted a 15-run defeat on Osbaldwick.
The mainstay firstly made 30 in a modest total of 100 and then he claimed a handsome 4-9 haul as Osbaldwick tumbled to 85 all out.
For the losers Mick Hammerton made 32 and bowler Andy Hall had an unrewarded 5-21.
