YORK & District Cricket League premier division champions Woodhouse Grange will be holding three events in the build-up to the 2014 season, writes Will Jackson.
The club from Sutton-on-Derwent won the 2013 title by a record margin in the Premier League era, and will celebrate the conclusion of the season by holding their annual dinner on March 21 at 7.30pm, with ex-England and Yorkshire batsman Anthony McGrath as guest speaker.
The event will be held at Fulford Golf Club as members enjoy the success of 2013, which included being the first Senior League club to reach the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy.
The second event will be a Sports Dinner held in the club pavilion on April 12 also at 7.30pm. it will be a three-course meal accompanied by a question and answer session with local cricket legend Des Wyrill, chaired by league president Albert Pattison.
The final event will take place on the day of the first home game of the season for Woodhouse, as they host Dunnington (2013 Cup winners) on April 27 for the York Senior League President’s Trophy. There will be a pre-season lunch in the club pavilion from 11.30am.
Tickets will cost £25 for adults, while under-16s can go for half price.
Adults can attend the lunch for £15, with reductions for children.
