York found themselves reduced to 27-4 at Carlton Towers in division one but battled back to win easily thanks to a fine all-round performance by Riley O'Neill.
A powerful fifth-wicket stand of 142 between long-serving Mike Mortimer, who made 79, and Australian O'Neill who made 72 on his return to Clifton Park after a two-year absence, put York back on track.
Alex Boyle made 30 from the number ten slot before York were dismissed for 250 off the penultimate ball. Paul Wright took 3-48 for Carlton who found themselves dismissed for 146 in the 40th over as O'Neill's spin earned him 4-24. Carlton's two main batsmen were Ian Leach with 42 and Neil Robinson who made 36.
Stamford Bridge made a good start in their bid to regain premier division status and can be well satisfied with the debut performance from Jamaican Tamar Lambert whose off-breaks earned him 5-33 at Scarborough.
Prior to the West Indian's effort, Danny Hagan had hit 82 and Phil Hill 30 as Bridge made 212-6 with Aussie Simon Branston taking 3-65 for the home team.
In reply Phil Beard made 34 but Lambert then combined with Peter Aconley (4-34), to consign the hosts to 131 all out.
