Bolton Percy sit proudly at the top of the second division following their advantage draw over second-placed New Earswick.

Australian Shane Windridge missed out on a century when he was out for 98, while Dick Brewster made 26 to help Bolton to 217-7 with Peter Stimpson taking 3-86 for the visitors.

In reply, runs came from Andy Routledge (35) and Andy James (32) but Carl Martin (3-54) had Earswick on the rack and it was left to Andy Freeman, who remained unmoved with 47, to steer Earswick to a precarious draw at 188-9.

Rowntrees' skipper Richard Tuite produced possibly his best bowling performance when he claimed 6-69 in 14 overs at Hovingham but he was unable to whittle out the final batsman as the home side clipped the Trees' reward by three points as they managed to draw.

For the visitors, Gerry Capelin made 56, while valuable runs came from Paul Horner (41), Ian Parnaby (31) and Dave Williams (34), who combined to take the Haxby Road side to 238-9.

Two home bowlers each bagged three wickets with John Mosey taking 3-24 and Tom Lund 3-52. The latter then added 36 to support a good 84 from Stuart Prest.

Chris Foster helped with 20 before Hovingham's last pair survived four overs to close on 200-9.
