Reigning champions Woodhouse Grange enjoyed a comfortable victory at local rivals Stamford Bridge in the premier division of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.
Bridge’s inadequate 153 all out included 27 from Dave Chaplin and 25 by Roddy Vann, but first half honours went to Tom Quinn, with 5-43, and new recruit Jake Murphy, who had 3-28.
Grange’s reply was spearheaded by leading batsman Nick Hadfield, who made an unbeaten 67, with trusted support coming from Jon Bean (31) and Andy Bilton (40) as they secured a seven-wicket win.

There were four wickets apiece for Thirsk youngsters Ryan McKendry (4-66) and Stuart Christon (4-48).
After the break it was the turn of age and experience as veteran batsman Des Wyrill came up trumps with a knock of 60.
McKendry contributed 28 before an unbeaten 27 by Mark Cook clinched a six-wicket win with nine deliveries to spare.
Pace-setting Sessay’s winning run was halted at Acomb, but they were still able to bag 25 points by gaining the better of a draw.

Collis King’s resurgence in form continued as he cracked 122 before falling with only two required for victory.
His partner in a 217-run opening stand was fellow West Indian Harwood Williams, who made an unbeaten 86.
Earlier, the three Piercys had all contributed to Easingwold’s cause with Stephen making 25, Martin 46 and Tom 26.
However, they were eclipsed by Paul Skilbeck’s 66, but it was Adam Iyer’s 5-68 which had the telling effect.
Two teams in their first season in the premier division clashed at Studley Royal where the home side had much the better of a draw after being unable to claim the final Fenner wicket in the last over.
Studley skipper Steve Walmsley led the way for the Royals with an innings of 87.
Further half-centuries by Charlie Scatchard and Gary Blackburn, who each made 52, allied with 26 by Rob Nicholson saw the Ripon-based side amass 273-6, despite a 4-82 return by Steve Sargeant.
Fenner struggled to 105-9, with Pete Shally making 47 and Dom Rhodes hitting 39.
Matt Coad took 3-33 but, with only four deliveries bowled at the last man, the Hull side warded off defeat.
