Bubwith boosted their survival chances when they had a six-wicket home win over bottom side Stillington in division three.

Stillington were dismissed for 128, with Barry Milburn hitting 30 and Tim Jarvis 37 not out as Gary Wilson took 3-19. Wayne Linton then took 3-36, but Neil Readman’s unbeaten 52 saw his side clinch the win.

Leaders Bolton Percy were on the wrong end of a draw when they could only make 165-7 against the 214-8 posted by York III.

There were early York runs from James Reynolds (30) and Steve Jones (36) before Toby Cleminson made 43 and Kev Mendham hit 51.

Karl Martin took 3-44 for the hosts, while Simon Hall claimed 3-48 for York, who closed to within seven points of the pacesetters.

Sheriff Hutton inflicted an eight- wicket defeat on visitors Thorp Arch & Boston Spa in a high-scoring game.

Spa’s batsmen made 233-5, with Ben Bartlett hitting 44, Andy Griffith 54, Mike Cole 39 and Will Bartlett 48 not out. Joel Wilford was the pick of Sheriff’s attack with 3-57 and then starred with the bat. Opener Ed Taylor hit 80 in a big stand with Wilford, who was unbeaten on 90 when he and Chris Megone (30no) saw their side to victory at 236-2.
