TOM SHAW hit an unbeaten 102 as title-chasing Huntington trounced Carlton Towers in division 5A.

Martin Johnson chipped in with 38 as Huntington totalled 235-6, and he then claimed 6-21 off 12 overs to bowl out the basement side for 112.

Sheriff Hutton made a rare declaration at Cawood when their skipper called a halt at 229-8 off 42 overs. Tony Fisher top-scored on 69.

Cawood’s Adam Hastie took 3-39 and Tim Wills 3-23.

Hastie then made 68 and Lewis Langstaff hit 51 as Cawood survived 48 overs to close on 179-6.

Civil Service skipper Richard Horner captured 6-40 when visitors Pocklington were dismissed for 136. Phil Northing supported with 3-8.

James Saltmer (3-24) then had Service reeling at 4-5 before Joe Griffin (59no) and Graham Sherlock (41no) forged an unbroken stand to clinch a five-wicket victory.

Division 5B leaders York IV notched their tenth win in 12 attempts as they swept past Bolton Percy’s 133 all out for the loss of three wickets.

York’s successful bowlers were Felix Adams (4-16) and Neil Reader (3-14), while Charlie Elliot led the successful reply with an unbeaten 48.

New Earswick lost by 26 runs at home to Whitkirk.

Earswick’s Andy Freeman took 3-31 and Andy Hewitson 3-41 as Whitkirk were all out for 125, but the York side were bowled out for 99.

Batting first at Mille Crux, Civil Service set bottom placed Rowntrees a target of 188-9 thanks to Peter Noble (40), Robin Harris (37no) and Colin Heath (45). There was success for Pete Edmondson (3-32) and Andy Main (4-52).

Main (60no) and skipper Tony Thomson (53no) put on a winning 126-run stand.

Tadcaster Magnet were all out for 150 at Stillington, whose Adrian Leckenby took 4-48. The hosts moved out of the bottom two with a four-wicket win.
