YAPHAM came down to earth with a bump against Selby a week after a rare win in division 4A.

The East Yorkshire side were skittled out for only 29 at Selby, with Jamie Middleton taking 3-1 from 11 overs and John Nuerden claiming 4-4 in 25 balls. Selby’s ten-wicket win came in only eight overs.

Half-centuries by John Woolley (55) and Mark Goddard (50) enabled Driffield III to score 226 all out against Osbaldwick.

S Smith made 30 as Osbaldwick held out for a draw at 118-7.

At Sutton-on-Derwent, Woodhouse Grange just had the edge in a draw with Fenner.

Grange’s Stuart Craven hit 57 and Rich Winterburn 29 in a score of 177-9. Jon Sowter had 4-51 for Fenner.

Paul Grewer (3-41) and Rich Hollingsworth (3-24) kept Grange’s noses in front as Fenner’s innings ended on 174-8.

In division 4B, Easingwold beat Huby by nine wickets thanks to a maiden century by Tom Langstaff, who was unbeaten with 105.

Earlier, Mike Mzerzwinski hit 79 in Huby’s 174-6. Eric Watson then made 44 not out as he and Langstaff shared an unbroken second-wicket stand of 132.

Thirsk’s batsmen rattled along to 244-4 at Dunnington, with Jamie Wilkinson hitting 78, Jamie Howe 49 and Chris Young 45 not out.

Adam Sutcliffe (72), Simon Richardson (34no) and Dave Wilson (32no) saw Dunnington to a draw at 182-4.

Dringhouses’ Martin Scott made 51 not out and took 3-40 but ended on the losing side at Heworth, who won by four wickets.

Sam Bibby got 35 in Dringhouses’ 154-6, as 15-year-old paceman Tom Allen claimed 4-26.

Greg Sykes made 69 not out for Heworth.

Acomb gained a draw at Malton, closing on 114-7 in reply to 188-9.

Acomb’s Neil Hinde captured 5-18 as Shane Bonsor hit 41, Andy Tyres 36 and Stuart Whatmore 34 not out.

Greg Weir then took 3-22 but Acomb were able to hold out thanks to Richard Wells (36no) and Andy Ingle (33).

An unbeaten 94 by Arthur Devine allied to 33 by Eddie Cass enabled Pickering to post 213-4 against Sheriff Hutton Bridge. In reply, Dave Ellis made 67 not out as Bridge drew at 176-8. Adie Boyes took 4-33.
