STRUGGLING Hovingham suffered an eight-wicket defeat by Duncombe Park in division three.

Alasdair Thorpe hit 65 and Steve Mosey got 35 in Hov’s 204-9, as Peter Kent took 4-50.

However, Brian Leckenby struck 107 not out and Phil Marwood 47 as Park won at 205-2.

Bolton Percy dropped from first to third after a five-wicket home defeat by Sheriff Hutton. Bolton’s Karl Martin made 61 in a total of 180-9, as Joel Wilford claimed 3-31.

Sheriff skipper Ed Taylor carried his bat for 61 while Chris Megone made 59 to see their side home in 43.2 overs.

Stillington’s Shaun Speck took 4-36 and then made 42 when Sessay visited, but was on the wrong end of a 30-run result. Giles Cressey propped up Sessay’s innings with 39 out of a total of 138. Speck went marginally better, but Jim Easton (4-40) and Karl Carver (4-13) wrapped up the innings at 108.

York III moved up from second place to top slot when they inflicted a seven-wicket defeat on Scarborough II.

Scarborough batsman Ash Kundi’s unbeaten 101 earned scant reward and Mike Hurst (52) also batted well as the visitors totalled 181-5.

York’s reply was led by Toby Clemminson (69no) and Matthew Wilks (61no).
