SECOND-PLACED Civil Service beat Drax II by a massive 147 runs in division 5A.
Service totalled 216 with Will Phelps hitting 72 and C Lowan making 45, before Drax II were shot out for 69, of which P Vickers made 33 not out.
Hovingham II made 206-6 against Pocklington II, with Geoff Pears hitting 126 not out.
Hov’s P Higginbottom then took 5-28 as Pock were dismissed for 53.
Sheriff Hutton II went down by 66 runs against Welton & Brough II.
Brough totalled 170-7 and then bowled Sheriff out for 104.
Third-placed Cawood toppled Rowntrees II by four runs in division 5B.
Cawood made 71-3 thanks to Nigel Bartram’s 44 not out and Mike Gibson then took 5-6 as Rowntrees were 67 all out.
That kept Cawood ahead of Bolton Percy II, who were 48-run winners over Tadcaster Magnet II.
Percy made 173-9 and then Magnet were 125 all out.
Thorp Arch’s last pair denied New Earswick victory.
David Scott made 90 in Earswick’s 246-6, but Arch managed to hang on at 206-9.
