LEADERS Clifton Alliance skittled Thirsk for 66 to maintain their grip on the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League premier division.

The York side, who lead Dunnington by eight points, clinched their ninth win in 15 games after making 191 batting first at the Racecourse Ground.

John Gilham hit 60 and Alistair Wray contributed 31 to the total as Thirsk’s Tom Stead took 4-37.

Richard Carroll was the chief destroyer as the hosts folded, returning figures of 5-20.

Woodhouse Grange kept up the pressure on the leaders as they beat hosts Acomb by eight wickets.

Acomb scored 201-8 batting first, with John Burton making 62 and Grange skipper Steve Burdett taking 4-56.

Jonathan Bean then top-scored with 78 and he was ably supported by Nick Hadfield (57) and Andrew Bilton (42no).

Beverley were unable to stop Dunnington notching a win at Norwood. The hosts were bowled out for 216, despite 50 from John Fisher. Dave Johnson took 4-49.

Former West Indies all-rounder Collis King then hit 66 before Johnson made an unbeaten 90.

Stamford Bridge skipper Matt Beckett was the hero at Low Catton Lane when he followed up his unbeaten 63 with 7-51 in a draw with Studley Royal.

Bridge scored 200-9 with Beckett being backed by Dave Chaplin (38), while Charlie Scatchard claimed 7-73.

Beckett’s bowling effort helped restrict visitors Studley Royal to 199-9 as Rob Nicholson hit 77 and Scatchard made 33.

Steve Sargeant starred with bat and ball as Fenner beat Sessay with two balls to spare at Marfleet.

Sessay had Jacob Spencer (42no) and John Flintoff (35) to thank for their 134-8 after Sargeant had taken 3-17 and Dom Rhodes 3-37.

In reply, Fenner were struggling at 6-4 before Phil Daniels (48) and Sargeant (31) saw them home by two wickets.

Easingwold had Paul Redshaw to thank as his 3-45 helped bowl out visitors Goole for 153.

Easingwold won by six wickets with contributions from Steve Piercy (32), Jonathan Marwood (30), Martin Piercy (32) and Andrew Dawson (27no).
