SECOND-PLACED Pickering piled on the pressure at the top of Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division one with a win at Clifton Alliance.

The Pikes rapped out a warning to leaders York with a three-wicket win at Shipton Road.

Clifton were shot out for 114 as veteran Dave Greenlay bagged 5-12. Mark Taylor was the major run-maker with 41.

Danny White’s spell of 18.4 overs saw him take five Pickering wickets for 44 runs, but Colin Frank made a valuable 31 to see the visitors through to 117-7.

York beat visitors Sheriff Hutton Bridge by five wickets after Robert Flack had taken 4-27 to bowl out Bridge for 187.

York’s 191-5 included 66 from James Wackett and an unbeaten 43 from Richard Love.

Neil Elvidge hit a double century for Folkton & Flixton as they beat bottom club Ripon.

Hosts Folkton amassed 318-4 declared off 47 overs as Elvidge (205) and Richard Malthouse (54no) put on 213 for the third wicket.

Ripon came close to preventing an outright win but they were 232 all out. Matthew Morton (72) top-scored for the visitors, while Andrew Banks hit 52.

Mike Hunter (3-48), Stuart Stocks (3-12) and Richard Malthouse (3-48) were the pick of the bowlers.

Ian Lynch top-scored with 142 as Heworth beat Londesborough Park by 96 runs.

Lynch and Jack Leaning (47) helped the York side to 235-7 and they then dismissed Park for 139.

Division three leaders York III edged to a two-wicket win over Stillington.

Shaun Speck top-scored with 71 in Stillington’s 180-8, but Kev Mendham’s 47 helped York to a winning 183-8.

Second-placed Sheriff Hutton beat Welton & Brough by 50 runs, with Joel Wilford hitting 104 in their 214-8.

Welton were bowled out for 164 with Joe Richardson taking 4-40 and Nick Schofield claiming 3-22.

Bolton Percy were left hanging on for a draw with Hovingham.

Hov totalled 221-8, with Teei Piawi top-scoring with an unbeaten 43 while Karl Martin took 7-55. Steve Mosey’s 4-17 helped reduce Percy to 191-9, whose Jamie Rigby made 47.

Brian Leckenby was 55 not out as Duncombe Park overhauled Bubwith’s 120 all out for the loss of only two wickets.

Peter Kent followed his 3-18 with 36 not out for Park.
