TOM COLLARD turned in a fine all-round performance as Hovingham beat visitors Carlton Towers by five wickets in division three.
Towers batted first and made 144 with Mark Holmes hitting 43 as Collard grabbed 4-42 in a 12 over stint and fellow Malton & Norton RUFC player Teei Piawi took 3-44.
Hovingham’s successful reply was based on 58 by Collard and 41 from Will Prest.
Welton & Brough’s Graham Copley claimed his club’s best bowling figures in the York & District Senior League when his 8-23 rolled New Earswick over for 91. Andy Routledge’s 45 was New Earswick’s best.
Welton then strolled to a ten- wicket win.
Fourteen-year-old Oscar Sugden made 43 and Neil Webster 68 when Goole posted a target of 187-4 for visiting Malton & Old Malton.
Des Wyrill made 39 in Malton’s reply before Stuart Baxter (47no) and Oliver Gilbank (33no) eased the Ryedale side to a five-wicket win.
The game at Thorp Arch was reduced to 42 overs, during which the Arch reached 189-9.
Ben Bartlett made 75, Jamie Perkins 30 and Chris Magee 28.
Joel Wilford took 3-37 for visiting Sheriff Hutton, who were then bowled out for 145 with ten deliveries to go.
Ex-Hovingham man Charlie Foster top scored with 34, while Tom Harrison made 26, but the honours went to Will Bartlett (3-41) and Guy Watmore (4-30).
